  1. Report says multiple explosions were heard around Dalori area of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital Sunday night as Boko Haram insurgents ambushed some military men along along Maiduguri-Biu road killing three soldiers. The report also said the insurgents have equally overrunned Kofa village.


  1. Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly has said that having an elderly person (Buhari) as president was not working well for Nigeria as the country needs an energetic president. He said the election of 39-year-old Emmanuel Macron as France president has showed that the world has changed its direction in terms of choice of leadership.


  1. Billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudi Onwuamadike, aka Evans, on Sunday led the police to two camps where he kept his victims on Jakande Estate, Ejigbo, and the New Igando, both in Lagos State. The Ejigbo detention camp is located on Green Street, Jakande Estate. The other camp is located on 21 Prophet Asaye Close, New Igando.


  1. President of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has expressed outrage at the removal of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) as a subject of study from the secondary school curriculum, saying the move was President Muhammadu Buhari’s effort to Islamise Nigeria.

A Yoruba youth group, Yoruba Youths Council (YYC) has vowed to resist any attempt by any government official or any section of the country that intends to undermine the authority of the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo. YYC in a statement signed by its President Comrade Eric Oluwole and National Deputy Publicity Secretary frowned at the reported attempts by some government officials to bypass Osinbajo by taking files to recuperating President Muhammadu Buhari in London.


  1. The Department of State Services has cautioned groups including northern youths and the Niger Delta militants against hate speeches. The DSS stated this in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Mr. Tony Opuiyo, saying it will not spare those trying to cause disunity in the country.
  2. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has reduced the price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) also known as diesel by 42% nationwide. This was contained in a statement signed by the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs division of the corporation, Ndu Ughamadu. The corporation says the reduction is the aftermath of key strategic interventions, which saw prices falling to N175-N200 from N300.


  1. Three students and a lecturer kidnapped by gunmen on Friday in Kaduna have been set free by their abductors. The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Media and Publicity, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, Sunday confirmed that they were in good condition and already united with their families.


  1. Relatively, Six notorious kidnappers terrorizing Kaduna – Abuja highway have been arrested by the Kaduna State internal security outfit, Operation Yaki. The suspects were said to have been picked up on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th June 2017 by Operation a joint operation with the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Teams (IRT) and with the support from the Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU).


  1. Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo Sunday advised church leaders and Ministers of God to always uphold the spirit of integrity and reject any money that was not gotten in a genuine way. He said that greed by those placed in leadership positions who loot the nation’s treasury was the root cause of the problems facing Nigeria. He spoke at the 2017 Fathers’ Day Celebration at the Aso Rock Chapel, Abuja.
